fractured urban space #1 (2008)

Video footage from bustling Hachiko intersection of Tokyo is layered and treated in a way that references patterns and colour palettes of “fracture camouflage” (i.e. camouflage patterns used by police and military personnel operating in urban environments). Rear-projection onto portable Japanese “byobu” (folding screen). Part of Tokyo City Spaces project.
